Great Plains Implementation for Light Manufacturing and Assembly Business
Microsoft Dynamics GP has full featured Manufacturing module, which addresses discrete production business needs. However before you try this route, you should ask the question: if we are small manufacturing company – why we need heavy weight lifting in manufacturing automation, maybe instead regular bill of materials should do the job for us? At the end of the day – you are final decision maker, we are only here to give you options to consider:
1. Nationwide small and midsize distributors. Typical place for these businesses is Chicago and its business metro. Here, if you provide custom assembly and ship your product nationwide – you are probably looking for really very simple manufacturing features. In ERP methodology, these are typically referred as assembly or light assembly
2. Inventory Control. This module in Microsoft Great Plains is tightly integrated with Bill of Materials and here you setup BOM. If you plan to implement either Manufacturing or BOM, Inventory control modules is required
3. Purchasing configurator. This is another nice feature, that helps you to extend Bill of Materials without deploying Manufacturing module. Purchasing configurator will do the job of inventory replenishment
4. eConnect. We also assume you have existing production automation system and you would like it to be preserved as it does the job of recording manufacturing processes. In this case, you should consider either GP Integration Manager to do integration on the scheduled base or eConnect (which requires additional C# or VB .Net programming) to do integration in real time
5. Software Licenses Savings consideration. If light assembly is doing your business processes automation, this should be substantial cost reduction in comparison to conventional MRP manufacturing module

? According to a prophecy in the Book of Mormon, American Indians would become “white and delightsome” if they join the Mormon Church. The Mormons believe that the dark skin of the Indians was a curse God put on their ancestors, which would be lifted if they became Mormons. But in 1978, Spencer Kimball, the church president, “announced a revelation from God,” and the church “scrapped a racial doctrine that prevented blacks from holding the priesthood,” says a recent New York Times report. So now, in a new edition of the Book of Mormon, the passage in question reads “pure and delightsome” instead. A church official said that “the word ‘white’ was an editing error and that Mr. [Joseph] Smith intended to have the prophecy use the word ‘pure.”’
That is incorrect. To claim that a person with a non-white skin would become white upon conversion is nonsense. It would also imply that we believe those of non-white racial origin are somehow lesser or even cursed. That is not what we believe at all.
Joseph Smith said on many occasions that those who enter the waters of baptism and embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ would be cleansed of their sins and become pure. This does not only apply to Native Americans.
