Storage Limits
There are storage limits which depend upon the category of hazardous waste generation.
If you are a Large Quantity Waste Generator (LQG), you have 90 days to ship the waste off-site.
If you are a Small Quantity Waste Generator, (SQG), you have 180 days or up to 270 days if you ship the waste more than 200 miles away.
The time limit begins when the first bit of waste is placed in the container. If the waste is collected in satellite accumulation containers, the time starts after the containers are filled, (40 CFR 262.34).
The US Department of Transportation has requirements for preparing containers of hazardous waste for shipment off-site. This includes CFR 262.30 – 33
Packaging
Before hazardous waste can be transported off-site, it must be packaged in containers that meet the requirements of 49 CFR 173, 178, and 179. (This pertains to protecting air quality.)
Labeling
Each container must have the proper DOT label as specified in 49 CFR 172. (This identifies contents as ‘corrosive, flammable, oxidizer, etc.)
Marking
Each container of 110 gallons or less must be marked in accordance with 49 CFR 172.304 with the following words:
“HAZARDOUS WASTE Federal Law prohibits improper disposal. If found, contact the nearest public safety authority or the Environmental Protection Agency.”
Be sure to include the Generator’s name and address. Include the business name and address, also.
Manifest Document Number. Be sure that you write in the manifest number.
Hazardous waste containers must always be labeled to identify the contents of each container, such as “flammable”, “acid”, “alkaline”, “cyanide”, “reactive”, “explosive”, “halogenated solvent”, or the actual chemical, as well as the words, “Hazardous Waste”.
Placards
The generator of the waste is responsible for providing the proper DOT placards to the transporter. The generator of the waste must know the placarding requirements of CFR 49 172 Subpart F. Most transporters provide their own placards; however, it is your responsibility to be certain that the proper placards accompany your shipment.

Need to Ship Container from California to Clark Economic Zone in Philippines?
I have a storage space in Bakersfield, California (2 hours north of Los Angeles). I need to take everything from the storage space and load it into a container (40ft). I then need to have that container shipped through the Port of Los Angeles and delivered to my business location inside Clark Special Economic Zone, Pampanga, Philippines.
My business has a tax clearance for imports, and the container includes miscellaneous property owned by the business for use in its operations. My business has relocated from California to the Philippines.
Included in this shipment are approximately 20 desktop computers, a server, router, switch, and other brand new equipment purchased for use in the business.

any one of these professional movers would know what papers/documents are required by customs. the process should be headache-free as they also take care of packing. you may want to make arrangement at the receiving end of who could handle the unpacking.
