There comes a time in almost every relationship where you think it might not work out but your partner does not want to let it go. There is no point in carrying on a relationship if you are not into it anymore. To make a relationship successful both parties should be willing to commit. The temperature guage does not read properly on my International dump truck. Model 1724?
The temperature guage on my dump truck reads maxed out when the key is on, or if the wire is grounded to the block. When the wire is removed, it reads zero. I tried a new sending unit, but it still reads max when hooked up. The truck is a 1984 International 1700 series with a 549 cubic inch gasoline engine. Any ideas??
Can you get a hold of a couple resistors??? Radio Shack has them pennies a piece Or get the variety pack of them for about 12 bucks.Use a few different values of resistor Try 100, 1000, Different values I do not have the Specs. I have no info on this truck but I am assuming the resistence changes as the vehicle gets hot…1 wire sensor ….2 wire sensor…… You may have to wrap a few together but it will still work. When you have the resistor(s) put them in the end of the wire then ground the resistor Check the gauge. If the gauge reads other than Zero Or Maxed out The gauge prolly is not the issue.
Also cycle the key from off to on if you can
