Where on my inboard/outboard engine do I put the “muffs” to start the engine on the trailer?
I have a 2007 Maxum SR3 2200 with a 300hp mercruiser engine- its been sitting all winter and I want to start it on the trailer before I drop it in this weekend…I just purchased some “muffs” to flush freshwater, but don’t know exactly where on the engine to put the muffs. I know its somewhere near the prop (obviously not in the props way)- any advice?
OK, get your engine as close to straight up and down as you can.
Now, see that screen type vents just ahead of the prop and above the drive shaft? Yep, thats it.
Now when you turn on the water, not full blast, just enough to cool the engine.
