Is the 4L80E a good heavy duty transmission?
I have it in my 3/4 ton truck with the 350 5.7 in it the stock tranny was a TH-400 but it burnt up because I pulled too many heavy loads they said a 4L80E is better for my truck because I use it to haul farm equipment around. Is this true I just had it put in not 3 weeks ago. I pull loads anywhere from 1000 to 8000 pound gooseneck loads is it going to prove more trustworthy than the original transmission that i had in it?
they are good transmissions to own,they have a heavier band in them and also will pull more of a load without over heating,it was just a replacement for th 4l60 which was a pretty good tranny also,i think you,ll like the 4l80 so far those haven’t given to many problems,good luck.
