Back Heel
The Back Heel is a very useful strike to use on your attackers shin if grabbed from behind or in his ribs or face if you’re both on the ground. Simply drive your heel into your target area. You can produce more power by extending your leg forward first then driving it back.
Scratching
Although technically not a strike, Scratching can be helpful to buy time or to get out of a grappling hold. It can be done with your toenails or fingernails by digging your nails into the skin of your opponent and rake in any direction. Scratching can be used on any exposed skin. It is good for breaking his grip if you go for the area where the fingernail meets the skin but for any real damage to be done you’ll need to aim for his eyes.
Head Butt
The Head Butt is often overlooked as a good Self Defence technique. It is actually a very versatile strike but should only be used if your hands are unavailable as you may cause self injury.
