Building condos was on fire for a few years in Chicago. Condos were going up all over the city. The South Loop, and downtown areas were seeing condos built on every block. Today with the economy, you still find condos in production but not quite the rate as a few years ago.

Where you end up living directly correlates with what you are going to spend on a monthly basis. With some research on your own, in time you will find an apartment to fit your needs. If you have the time of course. Going from site to site through the Chicago traffic can be tough to say the least.

Renting an apartment in Downtown Chicago would be great, but you should appreciate there are many Chicago neighborhoods that will have alternatives for you as well. Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, River North, Bucktown, to name a few offer great apartments for rent from studios to 4 bedrooms to homes, condos, and multi units.

The moral here is to keep your options open. Chicago is a great place to live and work. Find the best apartment for your needs, and budget will make your life much easier and less stressful especially during these hard economic times.

Burns Oregon to Klamath Falls — What Route?

I am planning a drive through Oregon and want to get from the Burns area to Klamath Falls. Google maps says take:

Highway 395
Oregon 31 (what kind of road is this?)
Highway 97

However, it appears that going to Lakeview (highway 395) and then west on Highway 140 may be more populated/better roads. (I’ve also driven this route before, but it was at least 15 years ago.)

Any recommendations?

If it were me I would take US 20 East to Bend then South on US 97. This route is 263 miles and 5 hours and 21 minutes. This would be traveling good road and a fairly populated area.

Taking 395 to 140 is 234 miles and 4 hours & 46 minutes. Highway 140 is a state road and not nearly populated as the others.

Your first route is by far the longest at 342 miles and 7 hours to drive it.

The choice is your’s. I haven’t driven 140 but the rest I have & can tell you they are good roads.
