Is it possible to play back-up games on wii without it being ModChip?
Hello I am trying to play a back-up game on my wii ( i payed of the game ) so…. i burn the iso. file to a DVD-RW (yes i changed it to iso249) and when a play the back-up loader it is not working!!! and yes i did hack my wii……, but do you need it ModChip
The answer that most people will tell you is that you need to modchip your wii in order to play backup games due to copyright protection on the wii. You cannot circumvent copy protection by simply burning the CD ISO because pirates can easily just rip and distribute it, so a modchip is required in order to get around the protection.
HOWEVER IT IS POSSIBLE to play a backup game without hardware modchips via various methods, though you need to have some technical knowledge in order to perform each hack. Here are the two I would recommend
–TWILIGHT HACK–
Basically you need a wii that is not updated to version 4.0 of the system menu and a copy of the game “Twilight princess”, a legit copy. You also need an SD card. The instructions are here:

–BANNERBOMB HACK–
This one is simpler and works on any version of the system menu so far. You basically open up your browser and the site injects special code to crash the wii and run special software which you need to put onto an SD card. Assuming you have an SD card, heres the instructions

I still personally think that modding the wii with a chip is easiest, but thats just me. Also, what do you mean by you “hacked the wii” already? BEcause that may have a bearing on this.
