What are the best kind of tires to use on my boat trailer for traveling long distances?
I currently have the factory tires(Loadstar ST205/75/D14). I was thinking it may be a good idea to put some radial tires on for travel on the highway for close to 1000 miles. I am pulling a Trophy 1802 Walk Around. Not very heavy but I don’t want to be “that guy” on the side of the road. Any suggestions?
The best advise here is to make sure that you are using “trailer tires” , Many auto tire places are not well trained in trailer tires, so, I find it good to go directly to one of the trailer manufacturers or a big distributor. if any thing go a little heaver on “Load Range” we often add to much gear. Because trailer wheels don’t steer like a car or truck, the sidewall gets twisted, and the profile is higher. Good Luck1
