After living in Africa for most of my life I find it amazing that the most innovative country can be collectively swayed in the wrong direction in so many ways and on so many issues. O.k lets be direct and deal with the issue of gas prices and the real reason for the constant change.
First of all it is directly related to the value of the U.S dollar period. If you go to a foreign country and buy goods from there the exchange rate affects the value of the product you buy. Just for the purposes of this article lets say you go to buy a glass of water and lets say the value of a dollar in that country is equivalent to 10.00 in their money but the cost of a glass of water in their money is 5.00 then you can get 2 glasses of water for a dollar. Now when the value of the dollar changes because of rate cuts by the federal reserve bank which is a private company then the value of that glass of water compared to the dollar changes.
So even though we try to influence the price of gas the fact is if we are spending more to get it it cost us more to use it. This is o.k just that the consumers, that is you and I pay the difference because the government will not subsidize gas. The oil companies will not reduce the cost so as to make it more affordable but instead will keep making much more profits as the cycle continues.
Enough of the sad news, there is something that can be done to reduce pollution and increase efficiency. The same way that supplements and catalysts are used to improve on food production or improve your immunity the same can be done for vehicles. The idea to get rid of gas completely is not in the near future and when it gets here just like hybrids it will be too expensive for the ones who really need it.The most ready, effective and inexpensive way right now is supplements that make your vehicle run more effectively and burn much less gas. There are alternatives that cost little or nothing but can increase your gas mileage by up to 60%. There are proven technologies that will change the way you think about your vehicle and question the rational behind the current procedure and why no one is doing anything to change it.
I will be giving tips on this new trend and the various things that can be done to ease your pain at the pump.
Expect more.

Why does my 04 Yamaha Vstar not get great gas mileage?
I recently bought a 2004 Yamaha Vstar 100. I am the second owner. My buddy has the same bike but his is an ‘01. He has to switch over to his reserve fuel at about 150 miles after fill up. In two tanks so far I have had to switch over to reserve at 90-95 miles. I called the previous owner of my bike and asked him when he switched to reserve and he too said he had to switch to reserve at about 150 miles. The bike runs fine and I dont believe I’m doing anything different than anybody else would to drive it. I’m not just revving the heck out of it at stop lights or anything. What could possibly make the difference that I’m losing 60 miles per tank? And for the record the previous owner changed the oil, filter, plugs, and cleaned the air filter just before I bought it. The exhaust is stock too. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
go to an auto parts store and buy a bottle of gumout (make sure it’s the one for the carb not fuel injection) and put it in your empty gas tank and then fill up with the highest octane you can find. I recently bought a 96 yamaha royal star 1300 that had been sitting in a garage since 97 (it only had 1800 miles on it) The seals were still good and instead of pulling the carbs to clean them I just ran gumout and 100 octane gas through the engine and the bike gets about 190 miles to the tank (4.8 gallons). Usually low fuel economy is a fuel system problem (dirty fuel filter, dirty carbs, low quality fuel etc) and the gumout +the high octane gas will burn out any gunk or carbon deposits in the fuel system.
