Because of the increased efficiency of front load washing machines, most of us have high expectations about this type of washer. But until you find an ideal brand, you cannot make the most out of the advantages of this machine.
Buying a new front loader is actually a difficult task. With so many choices, there is a big room for mistakes. To avoid getting the wrong brand of washer, here are some things you have to consider:
1. Consider comparing durability. All front loaders are efficient. They consume less energy and water. That being said, you don’t have to compare efficiency. More often than not, the advanced efficient features of more expensive models do not really provide a significant difference to the over-all energy consumption of the machine. Simply compare durability. You cannot make the most out of the efficiency of the front loader if it is not durable to begin with. You might want to look for features that are proofs of its durability. One feature to look for is the direct drive motor technology. This feature lessens wear and tear on the motor of the machine. It creates a smoother flow of washer cycles.
2. Consider just the right washer drum size. If you buy a big washing machine that is entirely too big for your laundry needs, you might end up using more water and energy. If you buy a small washer, you might have to run a few batches of full laundry cycles. It will still consume more energy and water. You have to consider your laundry requirements and what particular drum capacity can fulfill those requirements.
3. Consider getting a machine with spin speed settings. If you can tweak the spin settings, you can dry delicate garments better and you can conserve energy. There are also additional spin options such as the MaxExtract option. This feature will accelerate the spin speed during the last few minutes of the spin cycle to remove more water from clothes.
4. Consider buying an extended warranty. Usually, washing machines have one year of warranty. But more often than not, you cannot experience washer problems after 1 year of purchase. Most of the problems appear after a year. You need an extended warranty to cover your purchase. This costs comparatively less than repair.
Buying a new front loader is not a walk in the park. Know your requirements and make sure that your purchase is secured.

Kenmore elite Front loader washer problems. Wont Spin or drain.?
We have a kenmore elite front loader washer. It wont drain or spin. It gave me an code f02 which in the manual says drain problem. It also said sud which the manual said is a routine that removes extra suds. I checked the drain hose and its not clogged. Any ideas on what to do. Its a couple years old so out of warranty and I don’t really have the money to pay someone to come out. Thanks.

If the washer is full of water it will not spin, Unplug the washer and open it look for the pump remove the hoses from the pump and see if something like a coin or pin has gotten in it.
If you drain that water out and put in in spin only and it works than the pump is the problem. Many case lint from throw rugs will clog up the pump.
