Which is better for heavy towing: a fifth wheel or gooseneck? What are pros and cons to each?
a gooseneck can hold more weight and is better for large tows. The fifth wheel will give you more room in the bed of Your truck to put stuff back there because the gooseneck takes up a lot of the space in the bed of the truck. The fifth wheel will make the bed of your truck be like a vacuum so don’t put anything light back there or there is a good chance it wont be back then when you get to wherever you are going.
The gooseneck is a better design and normally will cost less than a fifth wheel.
For heavy loading and constant use the gooseneck is the best there is.
I would know, my dad works for a Bobcat and the specs for the gooseneck is a lot higher than the fifth wheels.
