A lot of truck Permit Service providers have setup their shops on the Internet. With the easy availability of wireless internet connectivity Truck Service Providers have setup websites offering all kinds of relevant services as are required by truck operators for obtaining truck permits.
From submitting application to the applicable truck permit issuing authorities the truck permit service providers provide their personalized service till the time the permit is handed over to the truck driver. For this purpose that truck operators are required to have a running account with the service provider, be it route wise, or monthly or annual. The kind of contract is dependent upon the type of service required. Truck Permit service providers having national foot print are at an obvious advantage over other providers who only provide local service. Most of the truck permit service providers operate nationally and have office across the country.
A simple search in Google for the term “truck permit service” would throw up a huge list of service providers who are available on the internet providing for such services. I heard about this new law from a friend of mine. He said it has to do with emission controll and all older trucks from 1995 and older will be put out of service next year…
There was talk of this at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach if I read correctly, but it was shot down.
