Get Power Steering, Trust Only Quality Steering Racks

It has already been an established fact that automaker Volvo is known for the security of safety it provides and the design of luxury to which its cars are presented. As they put it, safety isn’t only possible through the use of bumpers, air bags, headlights, anti-lock braking systems, and other protection gears that cars are installed with. It mostly comes from the inside, especially from under the hood – where all the performance comes from – and from where safe driving should start with.

Among the car parts that Volvo takes into great account when putting up a car is the correct positioning of their Volvo Steering Rack. Control is an important part of the journey and Volvo knows that control shouldn’t come from the driver alone but from the steering as well. This steering rack includes a rack enclosed with a steering pinion. This is then connected to the steering wheel through shafts and U-joints. Both ends of the steering rack are connected to the front wheels so that a turn in the steering wheel would translate into the turning of the wheels either to the left or right as well. Thus, the role it plays on cars is highly significant.

It wouldn’t do any good to know that the Volvo Steering rack already needs replacement only at the time it fails to follow the directions the driver is turning to. And the symptoms to a failing Volvo Steering Rack, and for any other makes for that matter, aren’t easily detected. A driver should practice a routine of checking the level of fluid reservoir to be able to detect the first symptoms of a coming steering rack failure and remedy it as soon as possible. This is because the usual first symptom is a leaking around the seals or the boots, and this really is hard to see. If the fluid in the reservoir becomes too low due to this leaking, then a variety of symptoms would then follow – hard cornering during turns, grinding noises in cornering, whining sounds in slow maneuvers, and intermittent spots of resistance in steering.

Although Volvo makes their Volvo Steering Racks only with quality in mind, these steering racks are still not immune to the wear and tear problems time may give. Thousands of miles after the car’s break-in, it may be possible that a wrestling match should occur everytime a turn on the steering is made. Before this even happens, be sure that the above-mentioned solution is done with utmost commitment to ensure that driving is still under the best control.

How do I attach a wire to an automotive fuse?

How do I attach a wire to an automotive fuse? The fuse supplies a constant 12v which I want to send to my car stereo. I ran a wire from the stereo to the fuse panel (to the left of the steering wheel). The fuses have two metal prongs with a wire connecting them and the top of them is enclosed in plastic. Is there a special type of fuse that allows me to attach a wire?

Thanks!

I would not recommend doing that. What would be a better idea is to get a test light (it’s very cheap) and pierce a wire to see if it’s a hot wire, but is dead when the ignition is off, that way it will turn off when you turn your car off, otherwise you might forget to turn your stereo off and drain the battery down. Once you find a wire, cut it and use a butt connector to splice into it.
