More Buying Tips For Pallet Trucks
1. Check the specifications. It may sound obvious, but you’ll need to match the pallet truck to the terrain you’ll be working in. It may be helpful to do a full evaluation of your workplace to identify potential hotspots:
- Is the working environment friendly or will you be working with potentially corrosive or harmful products?
- Is the surface even or will you need to move product over uneven ground?
- Will the forks expand to fit your pallets?
- Will the loaded pallet truck fit through entrances and exits?
- Will the pallet truck will lift the pallets to the height you need. Compare
pallet truck’ capabilities and make sure you have the correct measurements of both the stacking capabilities of the truck and the height of the storage facility.
2. Is time a consideration? Is your business operation dependent on speed? Do you need to minmise the effort needed to operate the pallet truck? And if so should you consider an electric pallet truck? A job that will take a couple of hours using an electric pallet truck may take several hours longer using a hand pallet truck
3. Budget. If you’ve worked out your budget and have decided on the type of pallet truck you will need then the next step will be to get quotes from online suppliers. It pays to shop around and always haggle; it may bring an out of budget pallet truck within budget. Try and stay within budget if possible. If your budget is way too low then it’s back to the drawing board to see where you can save money in other areas.
4. Follow your plan. If you’ve done your homework, found a company to work with and sourced a pallet truck that’s within budget that’s the time to buy.
About the Author
In a cross country MTB biking, what are the advantages of a 100mm fork over a 150mm or 180mm fork?
What is “cross country”? Does it mean ALL TERRAIN?
Cross-country or XC mountain bike riding refers the type of terrain the riding is being done on and what type of ride it is. Most mountain bike trail riding is XC riding. These are rides where you usually pedal along the whole ride without lift access or shuttle and don’t need any extraordinary equipment to complete the ride.
That’s a basic definition of XC. Now this generally refers to single and double track (how many bikes can ride side by side on trail). XC also includes endurance events that can take as long as 24 hours.
Now for a 100mm fork, you are going to save alot of weight. There is a $600 Fox Racing Shox 100mm fork that is only 3.34 lbs. I guess there isn’t other real advantages. If you like going off jumps, etc a=you will probably want some more travel, like 140mm. Those are all mountain forks. Unless you race, and really care about the 1.5 lbs of less weight, stick to the 100mm.
Cheers
