I have a f 250 power stroke 7.3 1995 it loses power when climing hills over8500 feet I haul a heavy trailer?
On open roads or on level roads it does well It appears to lose air or lack of fuel what do you think the problem is?
Take it to a Ford dealer, or mechanic experienced in diagnosing diesels. Have him/her check your MAP/EBP/BARO readings to ensure their accuracy. They are the sensors that affect turbo boost, especially EBP. If the EBP tube is plugged, or the sensor is bad, that will certainly cause a lack of power concern. Pay particular attention to your MAP and BARO readings as well. All that, and make sure the air filter is clean, as well as the fuel filter. Hope this helps.
