What’s the point of the “How’s My Driving” signs on trucks/vans?
Even if there are complaints or negative feedback, can the employer legally take action on their drivers? With people going to court as much as they are these days, would an anonymous call from another driver hold up as reason enough to discipline or fire an employee for poor or dangerous driving?
It makes the driver not act like an idiot when they are driving something expensive that belongs to someone else. Basically, it uses fear as a motivator/deterrent. That effect is far more significant than the occassional calling in of a complaint. It has been shown that having such a system in place decreases insurance claims – so companies that are lots of vehicles or pay big money for their insurance (trucking companies) pay some 3rd party to manage the program for them – and their insurance company cuts them some % off of their premium.
