just bought a chevy p/u truck,we turned it into a tow truck by installing a boom in he back…?
Its titled as a p/u truck still how do we change it to a wrecker title anybody out there done this before?
you don’t ……..only ppl that need to know or care would b the insurance company u have to carry to operate a tow truck……runs about 2-3k a month in most places…….
as long as the boom is technically removable as in not a boom rear clip u should b legal to keep it as a p/u………
but if u wanted to classify it as a wrecker u would go fill out the forms at dmv and have to have it inspected …..which is way more hassle than its worth and will make taxes and such go up on the truck……good luck
